2. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small file sent with the pages of this website and stored by your browser on your device. The information stored in it may be sent back to our servers or to the relevant third parties on a later visit.

3. What are scripts and local storage?

A script is a piece of code that makes the website work properly and interactively. Local storage and session storage are browser features that, like cookies, keep small pieces of information on your device. We treat them exactly like cookies and list them below.

4. How we use cookies

Functional — necessary for the website to work: remembering your consent choice and your language, and keeping portal users logged in. These are always on.
Preferences — remember choices that change how the site looks or behaves for you.
Statistics — help us understand how the website is used: counting article views and, through Microsoft Clarity, click heatmaps, scroll depth and session recordings. Clarity masks the text you type and doesn’t tell us who you are; Microsoft processes this data under its privacy statement.
Marketing — set by third parties such as Google, for embedded content and to measure or personalise advertising.

We use Google Consent Mode: until you consent, Google services on this site are told that analytics and advertising storage are denied. Microsoft Clarity loads only after you accept statistics, and Microsoft’s advertising cookies only if you also accept marketing.

5. Your consent

When you first visit, a banner asks for your consent to the optional categories. You can accept all, deny all or choose per category, and change your mind at any time with the “Cookies” button in the bottom-left corner or the button below. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal of all optional cookies.

7. Records of consent

To be able to prove your consent, as the GDPR requires, we keep a record of each choice: the date and time, an anonymous consent ID (the bh_consent_id cookie), the policy version, the categories you allowed, a shortened IP address (the last part removed) and your browser family. This record doesn’t identify you by name.

8. Enabling, disabling and deleting cookies

Besides managing your consent here, you can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. If you block all cookies, some parts of the website (such as the client portal) may stop working. Deleting your cookies also deletes your consent choice, so the banner will appear again.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability and to withdraw your consent at any time. You can also lodge a complaint with the Romanian supervisory authority, ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro).
